From Billboard to Workspace: New Daly site features CNY Business Directory

Manlius, NY - 01/23/09 - Our new site has launched! Our new site is aimed at communicating better with our clients, promoting the local economy, and bringing Central New York businesses together.

The Daly Communications CNY Business Directory was developed as an outlet for CNY businesses to connect with potential customers and other local businesses and support the local economy by purchasing products and services produced locally.  “We want our customers to get any help they need from the directory.  It’s open to all CNY businesses, and we think it has great potential as a meeting/marketplace” says Dave Daly, president of Daly Communications Group.

In addition to the CNY Business Directory, the new site will improve user experience by offering interactive tools, information, and added support to become a workspace for both existing and potential customers.  The new site is more Web 2.0-oriented by emphasizing user participation rather than just the Web-as-information-source approach (Web 1.0).  The new site encompasses the essence of Web 2.0 by building applications around the unique features of the internet such as rich user experience, dynamic content, metadata, web standards, and scalability.

“Our old website was more like a billboard than an interactive website.   We offer cutting edge information and tools for search engine optimization, marketing, and web design for our customers, but we weren’t making full use of them ourselves.  The new site encourages customers to remain on the site and look around to see what services we have to offer, rather than simply moving on to the next site,” says Kory Sponaugle, Lead Web Developer on the new site project.  Work on the new site began in mid-October and planned to launch in the beginning of 2009.

The new site opens a portal of communication with existing customers by adding Live Chat and Support Ticket features.  Live Chat will allow Daly Communications Group to answer customer questions quickly and easily in real time through instant messages directly on the site.  Customers will get answers immediately instead of having to pick up the phone and make a call or wait for an e-mail response, saving them time. Customers will also be able to fill out Support Tickets to ensure that their problems are solved completely and in a timely manner.

There is also a discussion Forum providing a round-table for our clients to exchange ideas, plans, and skills with each other.  The goal of the Forum is to help clients connect with the right people who can answer their questions and benefit from each other’s experience and insight.  Other site features include free web tools and information, and an interactive blog.  Check out the new site at www.daly-communications.com.
